




LONNIE BUSBY, MANAGING DIRECTOR
Mr. Busby has over 30 years of domestic and international experience in senior level management positions in the healthcare industry. He has been a CEO, COO, Board Member, management consultant, and entrepreneur. He has served as a consultant to a variety of healthcare clients domestically, as well as in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His management experience in healthcare ranges from multi-hospital systems and solo-hospitals to surgery centers, technology companies, imaging centers, rehab facilities, physician organizations and group practices. He is skilled at building market share and producing profitable operations in both public and private companies, and has a strong background in start-up operations, new business development, financial management, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and turn-around situations.
Mr. Busby has spent over five years studying the Chinese healthcare market and developing healthcare projects in China. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer/ Chief Financial Officer for BridgeHealth International Inc. In addition, he is Co-founder and Chairman of Signum U.S. Healthcare, a company developing joint ventures in radiation oncology with leading Chinese university hospitals. Mr. Busby is a Cofounder of SmartCare Family Medical Centers, a company that provides convenient and affordable treatment for common acute care needs as well as preventative health screenings. The company employs licensed and certified Nurse Practitioners and operates in retail host settings with grocery and drug store partners on a national basis. In 1995, Mr. Busby founded Delta Healthcare Management, a company that provides interim and long-term management, as well as strategic, operational and financial performance improvement services to hospitals, physician organizations, and other healthcare businesses.
Prior to forming Delta, Mr. Busby was President of the Midwestern Division for HCA Healthcare Corporation. He had P&L responsibility for all operations within a three-state region encompassing Colorado, Arizona and Nebraska, and total revenue exceeding $1.5 billion. He expanded HCA’s presence in the Denver market from two hospitals to nine hospitals, growing the company’s market share from 9% to 36% in two years. Mr. Busby received his Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Baylor University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Arkansas State University. He is a Diplomate in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
JORDAN KLEAR, MANAGING DIRECTOR
Mr. Klear is a Managing Director with Volante Capital, LLC. Mr. Klear works out of the firm’s office in Philadelphia.
Within the firm’s private equity portfolios, currently, Mr. Klear serves as General Counsel of BridgeHealth International, Inc., a major international medical tourism company and as an Advisor to Signum US Healthcare, which is developing CyberKnife®-focused surgery clinics in China.
Previously, Mr. Klear was a Managing Director of Centra Capital, LLC, a middle market investment banking boutique. Prior to that, Mr. Klear was the Founder and Director of a wireless technology company backed by Nokia Ventures. Mr. Klear began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he advised investment banks and private equity firms on regulatory compliance issues.
Mr. Klear is an active board member of a number of charity and business organizations and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of an assisted living facility. He is also a guest lecturer at numerous healthcare conferences including the annual Yale University School of Management’s conference. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Widener University School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Emory University. In addition, he is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey.
VICTOR LAZZARO, MANAGING DIRECTOR
With over 20 years of senior management experience in the health and managed care fields, Mr. Lazzaro has held positions responsible for marketing, finance, administration and healthcare delivery.
Within Volante’s private equity portfolios, currently, Mr. Lazzaro serves as CEO of BridgeHealth International, Inc., a major international medical tourism company and as president and CEO of Signum US Healthcare, developing CyberKnife®-focused surgery clinics in China. Mr. Lazzaro also serves on the board of Disaboom, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Lazzaro served as general manager of a hospital in China. He currently serves on the Board of Delta Dental of Colorado.
Previously, Mr. Lazzaro was president and CEO of United Healthcare Corporation - Mountain States (UHC). Prior to his position at UHC, Mr. Lazzaro was regional vice president of Health Plan Operations, Prudential Insurance Company of America. At Prudential, he also had CEO responsibility for healthcare management in a number of plans and states which included oversight of 30 primary and multi-specialty care clinics. At Prudential, his region included MO, AK, KS, LA, CO, and OK as well as at varying points the Dallas and Houston health plans. Prior to entering health care, Mr. Lazzaro was International Controller of a Black & Decker Subsidiary.
Mr. Lazzaro is an active board member of a number of charity and business organizations and previously served on the advisory board of MediExpress, a UHC affiliate, in Kuala Lumpur. He is also a guest lecturer at the University of Colorado at Denver MBA in Health Administration program. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania.
TERRY WHITE, MANAGING DIRECTOR
Mr. White has over 25 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry. During his career he has served as CEO of hospitals and multi-hospital systems in Hawaii, Colorado and Maryland. White has also been a healthcare consultant, Board member and turnaround specialist. He is a cofounder of Centura Health, Colorado's largest healthcare system, with revenues of over $1 billion annually. He is an active member of the executive team of Signum US Healthcare, developing CyberKnife and radiation oncology treatment centers throughout China. In addition, he serves as President of BridgeHealth International Inc.
Mr. White also has provided leadership in a number of healthcare businesses including healthcare information technology, healthcare staffing, financial services and outpatient cancer treatment centers. Additionally, he has consulted a variety of for-profit and not-for-profit businesses including hospital operational turnaround assignments. Hospitals under his leadership have received national recognition for quality and service.
Mr. White has a Master of Healthcare Administration from Loma Linda University in California and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is active in a variety of community and church organizations and has served on community and healthcare industry boards. Mr. White is a frequent speaker at workshops and seminars.
MARY BROOK, CONTROLLER
Mary Brook is the controller for Volante Capital, LLC. She handles the accounting, reporting and financial controls for Volante and its affiliated entities.
Ms. Brook has experience in a wide variety of industries. Prior to joining Volante, she worked as a financial accounting consultant to businesses in the healthcare and financial services industries. From 1989 to 1997 she was the controller and director of Investor Relations for the Hallwood Companies, a group of 30 publicly traded oil and gas companies located in Denver and Dallas. From 1981 to 1989 she worked as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche, LLP, most recently as senior manager; there, she served clients in the healthcare, financial services, oil and gas, retail, government, not-for-profit, manufacturing, automotive and construction industries including General Motors, Janus Funds, Oppenheimer Funds, Catholic Charities, the Colorado Department of Education and the American Lung Association.
Ms. Brook is a Certified Public Accountant and obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

JAMES D’ORTA, MD
Dr. D’Orta is a physician and businessman who was a Board Certified Specialist in Emergency Medicine and the Founder and President of International Medical Consulting, Inc. (IMC). IMC has provided medical support and consulting services to corporations and individuals over the past 10 years. Most recently, Dr. D’Orta served as an investor, medical advisor and board member to Minute Clinic, which was acquired by CVS, Inc., and now operates over 100 retail-based health clinics in 15 states. Prior to that position, he was the founder and CEO of a national physician service and medical device oversight provider, LifeLink MD, which was recently acquired by Medtronic Inc.
In addition to these business roles, Dr. D’Orta continues to serve as a director for the Board of Visitors at Johns Hopkins University and for the Board of Directors to the Georgetown University Hospital. He also holds faculty positions in emergency medicine and surgery at Georgetown, George Washington, and the University of Maryland Schools of Medicine and serves on several administrative and clinical oversight boards.
In the public arena, Dr. D’Orta has held numerous positions in the State of Maryland, including appointment as the State Medical Director. The Governor also named Dr. D’Orta Chairman of the Maryland Commission on Emergency Medical Services, which resulted in comprehensive reforms of the State’s emergency medical system, solidifying Maryland’s reputation as a leader in the field of emergency and trauma care.
Humanitarian relief has played an important role in shaping Dr. D’Orta’s professional life. He played a critical role in coordinating emergency physician teams in response to the earthquakes in Mexico City, Armenia, and San Francisco. He has provided medical aid to the victims of the Amtrak-Contrail disaster in Maryland and led an international medical task force to Kuwait after the Gulf war.
Dr. D’Orta has been honored with numerous awards given by his colleagues in medicine and the community. He has received several special citations from the President of the United States and the Governors and Legislatures of Maryland and Virginia.

Brandon Cady is the President & CEO of American Imaging Management (AIM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of WellPoint (WLP). Brandon has been a member of AIM’s executive team since 2002 and has led the company’s growth strategies that expanded the business into one of the largest and most successful radiology management companies in the healthcare industry. Today, AIM provides healthcare management services for more than 40 health plans and over 55 million member lives across its various product lines.
AIM has been a leader in technology and software development introducing one of the first web-based provider self-service programs for outpatient imaging management. More recently, AIM has expanded its healthcare services platform to include programs covering cardiac imaging and specialty pharmaceuticals. The company was privately-held until WellPoint’s acquisition in August of 2007.
In total, Brandon has over 15 years of management experience within the healthcare industry and has held a variety of leadership positions within hospital systems, health plans and emerging technology companies. In 2000, he was a founding member of Planlinx, one of the first consumer-directed health plan technology solutions in the country. Prior to the start-up venture, he spent several years with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) as Director of Strategic Planning leading business integration, network development and operational improvement initiatives within UHC’s Midwest region. Brandon has consulted with Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans on new product development and medical cost reduction strategies. Early in his career, Brandon worked in leading healthcare provider organizations such as University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and Great River Health Systems in southeast Iowa.
Brandon earned his Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
